Yayyyy, Hannah!

Our dear sister, Hannah McGowen, got engaged to her boyfriend, Blake Elliot, over the summer break! Hannah kept it a secret for so long, and everyone, including her big, Ashley Mitchell, was COMPLETELY surprised! I asked Hannah to tell us about to engagement and this is what she had to say:
Last Valentines day Blake had been hinting at proposing, but when the time finally came around he pulled out a candy ring pop! It was pretty funny, but I was frustrated, haha. So, this summer, we went to PCB and we had just eaten dinner with his family when he started complaining of a migraine. He left to go to "Walgreens" and I went to the beach with his family, and then we went to the pool at our resort. Blake came back and met us at the pool and asked me if I wanted to go for a walk on the beach. I told him I didn't really want to because I just got back from the beach. He begged and begged me to go with him so finally I gave in. We were walking on the beach and he was acting really nervous and fidgety! He started pouring his heart out to me and right when I think he is going to propose he pulls out a candy ring pop! At this point I am livid! Right as I am about to grab the ring pop and throw it, he opens it up and pulls a real ring out :). It was perfect! The diamond was his Great Grandmother's, which makes me feel REALLY special :)

Congrats Hannah and Blake! We're all so happy for you and excited for another Delta Gamma wedding! Love you sister! ItB!

I think it's important to be knowledgeable on the lives of people of different races, ethnicities, cultures, etc. this class provided me a wealth of knowledge on the history of people of African American decent and respect them for their trials in history.
Favorite thing to do on the weekend - Sleeping in and spending time with my family:)
Favorite music - I honestly like all types of music. It really just depends on the song and the mood I'm in.

Favorite movie - I don't have a favorite. I love comedies, romantic movies, and war movies.
Favorite restaurant - Cheesecake Factory!
Favorite DG memory - During my first recruitment I was the Director of Recruitment Records and a member of EVC. We stayed late every night after everyone went home. We even went to Judy's (an alumni) house to complete EVC stuff because the janitors kicked us out. Our alumnis are the best! When we were leaving I accidentally said, "I love you, Mom." to Judy because I was so tired. On pref night we waited and waited for our list of new sisters, falling asleep, until Mia (another alumni) ran into the room super excitedly. Amanda Chavez, Rebeka Holyfield, and I grabbed the list screaming with excitement. The hard work from everyone paid off. We got every member we wanted! Because we worked so close together, Amanda and I became super close and now I couldn't imagine my life without her.

Update!

Okay, so I haven't posted in SOOO long. Sorry for the slacking, summer got the best of me for a bit, but I'm back! That being said I want to talk about how AWESOME RPW 3 was! Allison did an AMAZING job, like I knew she would! I think it's safe to say that this will be the best recruitment we will have so far! We're going to sound good, look good, and most importantly keep DOING GOOD! Don't forget to keep checking e-mails about important things such as bid day, helping with recruitment, dues, sponsorship forms, etc. School starts Monday, so, let's put on those pearly teeth on smile mode and talk to some wonderful women about how great greek life is!

Don't forget:
  1. to change your profile picture to say "Go Greek!" and put the dates for recruitment.
  2. to make your pictures private! I love our Pi Chis just as much as you do, but let's remember that PNMs are not supposed to know who they are affiliated with. Don't worry, only a few more weeks until we can let everyone in on the big secret!:)
  3. to check what time you're helping with move-in this weekend (if you are)
  4. about the Panhellenic workshop on Saturday at 2 (I think?)
  5. joint CMT Sunday in the NEW chapter room
  6. 1st Fall chapter in the Health/Science center at 8 PM. Pretty Little Liars is on Tuesday's now, so, no excuses for being late;)
Now, that all of that is out of the way, enjoy the rest of summer and PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help out with recruitment as much as you all possibly can!
